We’re catching our breath after a whirlwind family reunion in the mountain resort of Whistler. Janice’s brothers (from Australia, Ontario and Calgary), their families and her mom all joined us. Busy, fun and a little exhausting!

🏖️ International luxury hotels cost less
Here’s a fun reason to splurge on your next trip!
According to the new Hotel Price Index 2025 report, international 5-star hotels are, on average, 27% cheaper than comparable hotels in the U.S. In some destinations — think Hanoi, Pattaya and Auckland — you can even score luxe stays for under $200 a night.
We’ve seen this ourselves in Vietnam, where we scored lovely 5-star hotels for about $150 USD night — even in peak season (February)!
We’re not surprised! With its picturesque Inner Harbour location, waterfront views, grand 117-year history and superb service, this iconic hotel is the grande dame of Victoria’s top hotels.
